Subject: We're off again

It's the 12th June and we've set sail from Bayona, heading for Pavoa de Varzim, Portugal.
Had a few days in the marina to recover from the 5 day crossing of Biscay and we'll probably need a few days more to recover from the excesses of Bayona!! We upheld tradition and hit the Scotch, Rum and Beer immediately we were secured to the buoy which was to be our home for the first night. We were rafted up with the boys from Gertha 4 before they'd even reached their mooring to have a celebratory drink (or 3) It was to be a very sociable few days with people from different yachts having a wander around the marina checking out the oppositions boats and accepting a good amount of liquid hospitality along the way!
The prize giving evening gave those who hadn't had chance to meet meet the crews from other boats and the generally there was a great atmosphere to the evening even if we received not a single prize :O(
The party got into full swing and continued into the early hours aboard one or two of the yachts, Ruby providing excellent hospitality for myself (I seem to remember)
A very pleasant sail the following day courtesy of Simon on Gertha 4 (Hanse 370) in some very blowy conditions but good fun all the same. It's probably a good indication of the weeks theme to say the sail was planned for the morning but no one managed to surface till gone 12 !
Had a cracking night out last night with 15 other crew members to celebrate Franks' (from Goldrush) Birthday.  We now have an inlatable Cactus on board, liberated from their boat on the way home, though not sure he actually realises yet !!
As I type this we have the majority of the fleet still in sight and we head South about a mile off the coast of Spain (shortly to be Portugal)  The wind's bang on the nose, so no good whatsoever for sailing so we're under motor, but it's the same for all of us, so no problem there.
The usual status quo appears to have decended on the boat. Rob's out steering (well ok, pressing buttons occasionally on the auto helm) I'm obviously sat here typing this and Peter's wandering about moaning about being hungry (oh, and breaking huge amounts of wind)
We should, all things being equal, arrive sometime about 8 ish tonight for another free day tomorow.
We're still getting occasional E mails and texts from home which are all greatly received and if you've been following us on the Blog, thanks for the support it's all appreciated.
Take care out there
