Early last night saw the arrival of some tropical rain squalls which made the wind vary from 20 to 30 knots (Force 5-7) compounded with a long swell from the NE, and it p......d with rain for five hours.  A rather bouncy night all round with sail changes throughout the night. All the team are tired as a result and the wind is set to remain at force 5-6 for the rest of the journey. Hoping however to be in the lee of Barbados early Friday night checking in at first light Saturday. The north equitorial current which has failed to mature finally seems to be kicking in giving us an extra 1/2 to 1 knot in our favour.  All well aboard, though longing to hear that chink of ice hitting the glass in the first bar!  315 miles to go. Love Kit

Hello Alison here, our destination beckons tantalisingly just out of reach but now very much more over the horizon. Kit stowed We've the jib away that we've been poling out as the wind is now north easterly just off the starfboard bow so the genny is furled in and out at various degrees throughout as the wind gains and falls in strength but should stay with us till Barbados.  All pretty tired now.  I've just finished my 4th book!  No gourmet meals tonight its a bit lumpy.  The fishing line didn't go out - I'm hanging on for that Bajan lobster now...  We'll soon be there!!! xxx
P.S. Boo hope you have a great time in Australia, lots of love and Happy Birthday to Catherine xxx
