We have now arrived in Ponta Delgada, on the island of San MIguel,
after an excellent two day crossing from Horta.

We had good winds much of the way and were under full sail for most of
the time. The views of the 7,700 foot high volcano on Pico were superb
as we sailed by the South of the island, heading South East to San
MIguel.

Our third crew member, Alan Trott, joined the boat yesterday afternoon.

Ponta Delgada is the capital of the islands and is much larger than
anywhere else we have been to in the Azores. It is a very attractive,
large town with many very fine buidlings and a very friendly feel.

The island itself has many attractions and we are planning to do some
sightseeing before we leave for NW Spain. We aim to leave by early
next week.

Hopefully, we will be able to post updates along the way, so long as
we don't encounter too many technical challenges using Graham's
computer for blogging and we're not distracted by heavy weather !!
