The favourable wind has gone and we now have light headwinds, so progress is considerably slower. Last night we motored for about 8 hours which dried out the cabin and sundry towels, socks etc but around dawn the wind got back up to F3 and so all sails are up and the engine off. We can make either 10º or 110º whereas the course we’d like to do is 60º, so it will be tacking all the way. Although only 380 miles to go it’ll probably take 4 1/2 days rather than 2 1/2 (380 becomes 380 / cos(50º) = 590 miles effective) but the forecast remains benign for the rest of the week and the barometer is high.
