The rolling along on the ocean continues. We've had a few brief spells of Force 4 then its back up to Trade Wind dependable rate of NE 5/6 gusting 7. It makes so much sense that this was a sailing route for square riggers in the past. We are making excellent progress according to the chart and the electronic plotter. The GRIB files show favourable winds continuing and not dropping to a complete calm.

The flying fish keep on coming on board at night: another 3 this morning. We've found out from our reference book that you can eat them, they are in fact rated as 'delicious'. There is apparently some unique way to butterfly them and leave no bones behind. As James said "it seems a shame with all this free protein hopping aboard every night not to take advantage of it". We'll give it a go.

It's a fine day without waves breaking into the cockpit so we had lunch there with a beer and some salad. A rare treat aboard. The temperature in the cabin is around 29 degrees and it's humid, so on deck is the best place to be. We've had moonlit nights despite the odd wave and wet deck so the night sailing has in fact been a comfortable temperature and visibility despite the rolling around.

We're also making bread at the moment. It's an all day process on board, we're at the 'anxiously watching it in the oven', stage,
