A very peaceful night under engine and near flat calm with only slight rolling. There was a great deal of ship traffic but nearly all of it was 5 or so miles to the west, including a cruise liner, the 'Aurora' around dawn.

Over night we were frequently accompanied by dolphins and even flying fish, although none came aboard to be had for breakfast. We went for a swim alongside the boat instead: not too cold and that intense blue one only gets in very deep water (about 2500m here).

Fiona's notes on life aboard; It seems to take forever to carry out simple tasks that normally take very little time. Just getting up, getting dressed and washing your face can take 20 minutes if you are hanging on to the boat with one hand throughout. In rougher conditions we are moving about like Andy Serkis' 'Gollum', we crawl about with one foot on the wall and hang from the ceiling. Today I have made my first batch of boat bread. It has taken hours as well. Though the flat calm has helped there and we are no longer as tired by the night watches as we were a week ago.
