The World Arc Fleet regrouped in Darwin Australia following a free cruising period of a few weeks. Préparations were made for onward sail to Bali Indonésie. We left Tipperary Waters Marina, Darwin on 31.08. 2014 for Bali. Crew; Derry; Margaret ;Donnacha, Brian,
We had a pleasant motor sail accross the Timor sea in the Indian Ocean. We arrived at Bali marina  on 5th Sept; where we were greeted by the most pleasant and spiritual people. Walli and Shelli along with Laura arrrived that evening and despite their jet lag; we soon were all in party mode. We all had a great visit in Bali and managed to tour around,feed Elephants,Climb a mountain,party til we dropped, particularly at Derrys
birthday celebration  on 8th Sept, had a great meal at beach resteraunt and continued celebrations back on Avocet.

Bali to Cocos Keeling Islands in the Indian Ocean.
We bid farewell to Walli and Shelli and set sail for these Australian owned Islands on 14. 09. 2014. Crew; Derry, Margaret, Donnacha, Cameron. Brian is helping out as crew on another Arc fleet yacht as far as Mauritius, there he will leave the Arc and return to Australia, bye Brian. Passage overall was good with good winds, it got a bit bumpy as we approached Cocos Keelings. We anchored off a deserted Island called Directional Island.where we managed to BBQ and party a little. Ancorage was comfortable for a few days then wind picked up so we were tossed around a bit.We visited near by Home Island, which has a small Malasian population who are mainly Muslim, so it was important to adhere to their dress code, but Margaret refused to wear the Burka...Following this the whole fleet went by ferry to West Island, which is primarily
inhabited by the Ausies. Here, some just chilled out and explored the one pub, some went kite surfing, margaret hired a bicycle and cycled around the Island. A great day was had by all and we returned by ferry to Directional Island with our provisions for our onward journey to Mauritius Island. As we docked the weather turned nasty and a bit of chaos insued as everyone tried to get their provisions off the ferry and in to their little Dingys..

Cocos Keeling Islands to Mauritius Island;

On monday 29th Sept we set sail for Mauritius Island; Crew;  Derry, Margaret, Donnacha, Cameron. This was the second longest leg of the rally,
2,350 NM,which took us 15 days. We had good E.S.E. winds most of the way, with Margaret getting most of the dirty cloud and winds at sun down and sun up, she is now known as the Cloud Queen. We got to see a Whale who came up on a flip to take a look at us at sun up, wow..
also some dolphins, played along with Avocet for a little while..Some nice fish were caught including a yellow fin tuna.
We had some beautiful star filled nights also.
We arrived in Mauritius on the morning of the 14th Oct, to be greeted by Joel, Arc, and some of our fleet colleagues, with a shot of rum mmm.
 once again  we had a great visit to this Island full of friendly people. We toured around, climbed a mountain and lots more...
The fleet said good bye to Brian with a mighty party and send off. As if he didnt have enough rum at his party, Margaret and Derry treated him to a shot for his breakfast, which he didnt refuse...
