Ola everybody from all on the Avocet. Currently 2 days out from Cape verde and have covered 280 of the 1600 miles to Salvador in Brazil which is our intended next port of call but the winds will probably make the choice for us. Going through a patch of lovely weather at the moment but the heat can get a little much in the middle of the day but nobodys complaining!!!! We're flying through our rations (mainly thanks to mike) but we have our rods out so hopefully we'll catch a few more fish..
We all had an excellent time in cape verde and the local people were very welcoming and friendly to us and helped us to find everything we needed for the boat while we were there and our new friend Tony was kind enough to show us all the sights and sounds of his island. He brought us to local restauraunts with loads of amazing fish dishes and to some lovely white sandy beaches where we enjoyed hours of body surfing.
All is well with everyone onboard and looking forward to an equator crossing in the next week so there might be a few more shaved heads after that, although mike may be trying to hold out haha (we'll get him).

Ola chicka whoppas, at the moment were somewhere deep in the tropics catching rays well nearly everybody(mike), so hows work?? On board were keeping ourselves busy while were not on watch, we have chuck our tv and Mr. Lacie our hardrive to entertain us along with the occasional game of poker. Morale is high on board apart from when the captain has the idea to cook, which is a true recipe for disaster.
We have seen a large amount of sea life, one flying fish mysteriously managed to get into ketts cabin and under his covers without the aid of anyone else on board  ;-). Don't forget 1 in 6 seamen go a little crazy on a transatlantic crossing, whos it going be? ... Not me .... who said that??
