It has been a difficult week. Sylph’s regular maintenance continues in between sporadic rain; however, last Sunday a good friend was unexpectedly admitted to hospital. I am afraid that we are at that time of life where serious health issues can spring upon us with little warning; which is why I am getting a bunch of routine health checks done before hopefully heading offshore again.
My friend, Ada, is okay - the prognosis is positive and she should be out of hospital sometime this week, but we are still awaiting test results to see what the treatment program is going to look like. In the meantime, I am filling her spot in the Wednesday race series on the harbour in a Northshore 28, Katinka. Ada is not going to be rejoining Katinka for the rest of this race season but we are optimistic that she will be fit in time for the summer season.
All is not well, but okay.
