As expected, we found the current closer in to Twofold Bay running in our favour, at times up to two to three knots, which was just as well as it made a huge difference to the amount of ground we were able to cover in the afternoon as the breeze remained light and for the most part we were only making good a couple of knots through the water. With the assistance of the current we rounded Gabo Island just on midnight and from here the wind gradually freshened from the NNE. Since 0345 we have been running wing-on-wing making good a steady six knots.

The weather map is looking a little complicated over the next few days, with a trough passing through later this evening, and a cold front on Sunday. So we are expecting a variety of conditions which I will not attempt to elucidate. Suffice to say that the forecast suggests that we should be able to continue on our now Westward trek towards Port Phillip, with a current ETA off the Heads of late Tuesday.

All is well.
