We have enjoyed a pleasant sail over the last 24 hours, having to motor only for a few hours in a couple of light patches.
We are now approaching Cape Duquesne, on the other side of which lies the pleasant port and township of Portland. Winds are forecast to go mostly light and variable for the next couple of days, then turning to moderate headwinds late Saturday. I am tempted
to pull in to Portland until conditions turn more favourable; on the other hand, we could press on to Port Phillip where I would hope to arrive sometime Sunday. While the latter option will likely mean a fair bit of motoring and about a day of headwinds, the
advantages are that we would spend less time alongside and, more importantly, would have the opportunity to catch up with my brother, Mark, and his family. The longer range forecast has favourable conditions for continuing East arriving on Wednesday 11th.
So, for now, we will press on with Port Phillip in mind.
All is well.
