At anchor Snug Cove, Twofold Bay
Wind: NE, F3 gentle breeze
Sea state: 1 - rippled Swell: nil
Weather: sunny, mild
We remain at anchor waiting for a favourable weather pattern for continuing north. At this stage that looks like early Wednesday. My plan is to depart around midnight on Tuesday when winds are expected to be light from the north so as to be in a good position to make the most of the S’ly change when it arrives. The S’ly winds are forecast to last only a day and a half before going light and then swinging back into the north, so we will need to make the most of whatever we get, especially as we will likely be pushing against the East Australia Current. We will also need to strike a balance between going too far offshore where the contrary current will be strong and staying too close in where the winds will be light and fickle.
In the meantime, I do a few boat chores and otherwise just relax. I start the day with a dip over the side, then breakfast, then a few chores, then lunch, then ashore to do a bit of shopping but mostly for some exercise (it's a steep hill from the beach to the town centre), then back on board for dinner and a movie.
All is well.
