Much to my relief the winds remained not too foul last night and we only had to do a couple short boards out to sea during the night to remain clear of the coast and fetch Cape Otway, which we rounded at 0945 this morning. The wind is just now starting to freshen from the SW, though it is a bit patchy. It is forecast to freshen slightly and veer more into the west later this afternoon - more headwinds.

We can expect mostly light and variable winds tomorrow before the winds pick up from the south late Wednesday, a fair wind at last (fingers crossed) which will speed us on our way to Adelaide.

But for now I am very pleased to have made it around Cape Otway before the fresh SW'lies picked up to its east.

All is well.
