There's very little wind today as we escaped from the marina and sailed five miles or so down the coast, and then anchored in a very peaceful bay. Departure was preceded by another visit to customs to obtain the coastwise boat pass to Nevis, an important document advising that we have no cargo and are travelling in ballast.  There are only a handful of boats on the whole island, and we have one companion here, a far cry from the bustle of St Martin. From the anchorage the coast curves back to the north and west, with great views back to Basseterre and the mountain, plus a stunning view of the sunset, though slightly marred at the final moment by a thin line of cloud on the horizon. Irie's anchored in about three metres of water over undulating sand, andon the seabed there are dozens of large starfish and their relatives in a variety of colours and textures. Now dark, the sky is teeming with stars, and the boat is gently and somnulently rocking to a small swell
