Waking up at 6:45 AM is not something I relish during school holidays. However, I had promised to help set up Adventure for the expedition to Greenland. I arrived at JSASTC Gosport at roughly 9 AM, and helped Kev assemble the serviced winches, check the engine, find seacocks and general preparation. We visited Hornet Sailing Club for lunch. On return to the Adventure, I ventured up the mast to check the fittings. I have only recently climbed a Farr 65’s mast, so climbing Adventure did not bother me. On my return to the deck, Kev and I checked all the fittings on the deck.

My highlight for the day was climbing the mast. I think its one of those things which you cannot do to many times - although I do not fancy climbing it on the seas!
