Position timestamp: Friday 10 June 2022 14:00 (UTC-1)
Distance travelled in last 24 hours: 169 NM (average speed 7.0 knots)
Reduction in distance to destination: 165 NM
Shortest distance to destination: 911 NM (great circle)

That was a productive 24 hours. 169 miles sailed and distance to Guernsey reduced by 165, an efficiency factor of 98% and a passage record that is unlikely to be beaten.

The wind is dropping slowly but surely as we head towards the high pressure ridge that is forming between the Azores and the UK. The long rolling swell is also reducing. Yesterday it was easily three to four meters at times; today it is two to three meters and will decrease further.

This is the first day since leaving Bermuda that we haven't seen any great shearwaters or dolphins. This is slightly strange given that we had dolphins off the bow all day yesterday and countless shearwaters swooping across the waves.

For the first time on this trip, the conditions are quite good for a spot of fishing and there’s room in the fridges and freezer if I am successful. A two to three kg tuna would be a good result. Pan fried fresh tuna would certainly beat a tinned tuna and mayonnaise salad.

All is well.
