We made record progress in the last 24 hours! And not just the record for this passage, an all time record for us of 191 miles in a day. There was also a healthy reduction in the distance to Guernsey, 168 miles which more than halved our running deficit to only 32 miles.

The next few days also promise to be very good progress-wise with 15 to 20 knots from the south-west, veering west later. The only thing preventing us doing better is the high winds forecast for mid-week which are requiring us to stay south of 37N (or possibly lower) until they pass. This means we are heading directly east when the shortest route to Guernsey is ENE. There’s also the possibility of strong winds next weekend which would further delay us heading a bit north.

All is well apart from some glitches with the satellite communications link which is resulting in emails appearing to be sent but not actually getting to their intended recipient(s).
