We have just moved down to the southenr end of Fakarava. We sailed down the 30 miles of lagoon over a couple of days, anchoring in some idyllic places along the way. Yesterday we had a fun sail down the last part of the lagoon. It was blowing about 25 knots on a close reach, but because we were in the lagoon the wave action was not too bad. It was a really fun, exhilerating sail, with Serai doing about 6 to 6.5 knots most of the way. We arrived just as a huge squall came through, with about 40 knots of wind. We motored around in cricles until it passed over and then dropped the hook. The rain came down so hard it was actually painful to be out in it!

So here we sit in about 12 feet of flat calm water behind a small motu with a sandbar off to one side. You can see the sharks swimming around in the water...and Ems just told me she dropped a screwdriver over the side! Ah well, she who drops, dives for it! But I'll stand as look-out to make her feel a bit safer.

We are doigna few boat jobs today, ready to get under way in a couple of days - a few jobs each day makes the list seem less daunting - I think we are up to 15 items now on the short term list, and the same for the long term list!

Thats it from us! Till the next time.

Lots of love

J and Ems xx
