Martinique was fairly uneventful. We ended up getting bogged down in finishing various boat jobs and trying to get a persistent oil leak on the engine sorted out. Unfortunately the mechanic was far too busy and would only be able to do the work in a week's time - no good for us. We managed to hire a car for a day and go shopping though. This was pretty exciting as we headed off to a huge hypermarket called La Galleria just outside Fort de France. Ems went all girly on me and bought a handbag. We then proceeded to buy enough food to feed an army. The boat is now completely laden with food for the trip. I don't know how we managed to stow it all, but it has all fitted in.

We left Le Marin early in the morning, destined for Rodney Bay, St Lucia. Its only about 23 miles, so a short sail. Once gain we were lucky enough to have a beam reach all the way. We romped across to St Lucia under blue skies, leaving a very cloudy Martinique behind us. It was the perfect morning sail, and both of us commented on just how lucky we were. We did have fair sized seas of about 10 ft, but they were of the long Atlantic variety, rather than short horrid seas. It was a really fun trip and we pulled in to Rodney Bay at about 11.30. I can't help but smile whenever I consider Rodney Bay - I keep expecting Del Boy to walk up the dock and say "Au Revoir, Au Revoir, and welcome to St Lucia!

Anyway, my brother and his girlfriend come out in a few days time. They are joining us for 2 weeks sailing around the Grenadines etc. We have gone on the dock at Rodney Bay so Ems can get the boat ready for our guests. It feels a bit like we are going out on charter!!! Just waiting for Rodney to deliver laundry and Taz to arrive with all the booze...I wish!

Until the next blog, lots of love
