We are now officially half way to Fatu Hiva in the Marquesas. Its all downhill from here on in! YIPPEEEEE! Its such a great feeling to know we are over half way although slightly worrying that we still have so far to go!

We are losing quite a bit of hard fort for south but the wind has come round so we can only sail 235 degrees. We may wait for the wind to pick up tonight and then goosewing, as long as we dont lose too much speed in the process. The one bit of advice I would give you is to try to keep south as much as you can. The seas here have mellowed today but were ptretty boisteroous yesterday and last night. We had a folliwng sea but then every now and then a big one would come from the beam and shunt us right over, playing havoc with the sails and sending stuff flying. Some of these were in the 12 to 14 ft range, but none taken on board, although a few close calls!

To celebrate our half way point, we had some presents to open this morning and tonight it is beer and pizza night, with rice pudding for afters! YUM! Thanks to everyone who provided presents to open at such a momentous moment in the trip - you'll never know how much they meant to us at 10 am this morning!

Caught another mahi yesterday so had that for dinner last night, in breadcrumbs with salad and potatoes. Ems seems to be working miracles in the galley - thank god!

I just finished Joe Simpson's Touching the Void - wow what a book.

Anyway, thats our news.

Take it easy out there. Until the next time.

Lots of love
