WOW. WOW. WOW. After 10 days at sea we finally got into Opua Marina and cleared customs and immigration. We are just so happy to be here. We had a good trip overall, except that we lost our wind at the end. We had one 24 hour spell of horrible weather, with 40 knots of wind on the nose and some big seas to contend with too. Its been a mixed journey with some of the best sailing and some of the worst and then a whole lot of motoring. The good news was that we had no rain, and the sun was shining for us in NZ. The nights were unbelievably cold though, with the pair of us wrapped up like it was winter. As we approached Opua we were joined by a mother and calf Orca Whale. Just an unbelievable welcome. A truly magical moment.

On the dock were Nick and Lyndsay, to welcome us in and take our lines. Thanks to them we are also now the owners of a very large and very thick blanket to keep us warm at night! Thanks guys.

Jeff and Casey made it down to us in their camper van that same day, so everyting worked out perfectly.

Its so good to be here. The pair of us just cannot stop smiling.

Till the next time.

Love
