Kelpie

Having suggested that Kelpie needs to pick up her skirts I let the "Lymington Tweakers" loose and then went and hid in my bunk while they applied all the little tricks they have learnt during hundreds of Folkboat races. The result is impressive -Kelpie is roaring along at 7+ knots without any evident stress and they are very proud of getting 10.5 knots on the clock at one point! A a result of all this, our noon to noon run is 163 miles - our best day's run since that day in August just out of Lisbon. We are watching the leaderboard very closely and clinging on to our top-three placing.
Jane has sent us an email describing her and Leigh's trip to the spa over the weekend; our spa here is much nicer - every room has a sea view and we get free Thalassa Therapy thrown in - mostly at random when least expected!
In fishing news, Chris has been pondering how to make the best of his fast diminishing stock of lures and weights and announced , rather alarmingly, at breakfast that he has decided to re-arrange his tackle. The rest of us are wondering if this will produce anything as impressive as "The Mindelo Whopper".
And finally, I caught a fish myself last night - rather it caught me when a flying fish simply landed on my lap when I was on watch in the middle of the night! It was lucky because I threw it back; others on board might have tipped it into Chris' bait bucket.
