Last night in Las Palmas

 

The last few days have been hectic with the boat lifted out to service the prop and clear it of the Portuguese fishing net it had acquired on the way south, installation of the water-maker, servicing of everything we could think of and procurement and stowing £1,200 worth of food (enough for 4 weeks and we are not eating caviar!).

 

Added to this has been a frantic amount of work for my business to tie up loose ends that didn't get sorted before leaving Blighty what with selling the house, putting all our kit into store, etc, etc.

 

Finally I believe we are ready for the off and expect to be on the start line for our ARC+ St Vincent at 1300 tomorrow but don't be surprised if you see me running down the pontoon for a last minute dash to the chandlery!

 

We have started to meet the crews of the other boats and some of them are becoming firm friends - no doubt we will catch up with them in the Cabo Verdes and the Caribbean to swing the lamp recounting our adventures.

 

This evening, the butterflies are fluttering!
