Just a few more miles and we will be half way to Mindelo
in the Cabo Verde Islands and coincidentally, we will cross the Tropic of Cancer
at roughly the same time.
Its been an exciting day at the office. Chris
caught a beautiful fish which he tells us was a Dorado. After briefly
allowing us to admire it, Chris baked it with rosemary. Line to pan in
under 30 minutes. Delicious!
Then a front passed through during Saturday evening
giving us massive wind shifts and then very little wind. During the course
of managing the sail-plan during the night we got a genoa sheet wrapped round
the propellor. No damage done but we had to sail in very light airs
through the rest of the night until Team Kelpie managed to clear the rope in
daylight. Fortunately this was achieved without sending down our ship's
diver!
The weather has suddenly got a lot warmer after the
unpleasantness of last night's fronts; the bimini is up and the shorts are
back on!
