Slipped from Corme at 9 this morning aiming for Portasin, 50 miles away. The big challenge would be to round Cape Finisterre, the most westerly point of mainland Europe on a coast with a serious reputation for bad weather.
In the event there was little wind so we motored the whole way but there was a huge swell and without wind, Kelpie rolled like a pig.
Made the mistake of hoisting the main to try to use the little wind there was to stabilise her but the motion was so violent we only succeeded in shattering two of the main track cars . ball bearings everywhere! Hopefully Leigh will bring replacements with her from England on Weds Then, just as we entered the stunning Ria de Muros, the sea calmed and we glided into this immaculate little harbour. Dinner and a quiet drink in the Club Nautico and we are starting to feel human again!
