Friday 26 December

We arrived at Flyer's winter destination at 16:00 on Friday following a very fast and somewhat bouncy 65NM trip from Pinney Beavh,Nevis. Most of the trip was a close reach with the F6 NE breeze causing breaking waves to come over the windward side from time to time. The passage between Nevis and St Kitts was poarticularyl challenging as this was very bshallow in places at only 5metres. Having left Nevis at 07:30 in good time to make the bridge opening time of 17:30 at Simpsons Bay Marina it was mission accomplished. We joined a convoy of other waiting yachts and made our way into the vast lagoon marina where Flyer was dwarfed by rows of Superyachts, we had never seen so many large vessels in one place. Once inside  the lagoon we were met by our agent, David Duong of Horizon Yachts in a dinghy who took us to our berth. So that was the end of our little cruise which now totalled 326NM and had taken in many islands with many still to be visited in the  future.

We had spent Christmas Day on Nevis where Sunshine of his own Beach Bar fame had made us very welcom indeed. We had Christmas Lunch at Golden Rock which was a converted Sugar Plantation which is now a hotel, this was a superb location  where green vervet monkeys ran around the estate in the afternoon. Dinner folowed at Sunshine's where there were many photos of the rich and famous posing with the host including, Roger Daltrey, Fergie, Brittney Spears and Beyonce to name a few. He has another to post up now after Adam and myself posed with him. There was a Karaoke night running and Adam gave a superb rendition of Calofornication and Wonder Wall before unbelievably being joined by his Dad for a duet of Hotel California. We had intended singing 500 miles but probably thankfully this track was not available!

Full details of ourv travels and photos will be posted once we reach home.

No christmas cards sent by myself this year due to te extensive travelling programme!
