We intended to continue on to Alicante, but rounding Cabo de
Gata to turn north was a bit windy and lumpy. With the prospect of spending 6
hours battling into the wind to just to round the point we decided to take a
stop. We first tried to get into Almeria but they had no room for our size
boat, so we ended up in Aguadulce (Spanish for sweet water). On first
impressions it looked quite good with Mediterranean moor to the quayside with
lots of restaurants. The two downsides were that we could not find a decent
restaurant, and secondly we were moored up right outside a nightclub which was
just closing as we left next morning at 0700. It was very hot so the 5 minute
walk to the beach for a swim in the evening was really nice. Bill |
