No marina in Faro but there are anchorages in the marshy lagoon.   Took train to Tavira which is a lovely town with typical south Portugal architecture.  Tourists of a different kind here – not Albufeira  or Portimao or Lagos type tourists although they may be visiting for the day as the train service along the coast seems really good and even goes into Spain.

On the last night of three our anchor dragged in high winds so we were on constant watch - well with the help of the electronic anchor watch alarm.  It wouldn’t have been terrible though as we would have bumped into mud flats (not rocks at least).

All over Portugal you see the outside of houses tiled as shown in the picture
