The following day we went to Sandy Kay, a tiny Island just off Joss Van Dyke. It was donated to the people by a Rockefeller in 2008 and has a nature trail around the island which we did. I have not had a chance to read up about it, however I would imagine Rockefeller bough the island with a view to building a house on it, and then did not. ( Oh to be in a position to donate a desert island for the good of the people!!!) We then went to Norman Island which was a rainy slog to windward in choppy seas. We arrived in ‘the Bight’ just in time for the sun to come out and a run ashore. We then decided to go to Willy T’s for a drink with the children. This is a floating pirate ship which is a bar. We were last here 9 years ago with Hayley and Al, for a rather raucous night. It was of course a little different with A and A in tow, but still great fun, and we were much later than expected. We met some people from Weymouth (my home town!) and also a lovely american couple which meant that Arthur and Alice were adopted and looked after for the evening!! The barman decided that the whole family were worthy of a Willy T’s tattoo……. erm, I am not sure what people think of us today as we all have ‘tattoos’ which from afar look quite real…….
