On one of our hill walks in Domenica, we could see a group of islands to the North, The Saints. It was good to point these out to the children as Arthur is just beginning to grasp the concept of moving around the islands!!
This is a group of charming French Islands. We had a four hour passage in no wind at all from Domenica so we had to motor the whole way…. but, in the distance I saw what I thought was a reef, with breaking waves so I asked Douglas to check the charts. It was not a reef but an enormous pod of Dolphins!! We made a detour and went into the middle of them, where they started to play and swim with us. The water was so clear and you could see the dolphins so clearly. (We will post a video on Facebook!)  This was the first time I had seen Dolphins and I just knew that we would see them sometime soon……. I was right!! Arthur and Alice thought it was great. We played with them for about 20 minutes before we thought we had better keep going in the right direction!!

We arrived at the Saints and picked up a buoy in Bourg Des Saints on Terre D'en Haut. Here we have been enjoying the lovely local town. I have even managed to find the perfect retirement home for my father Bob…… guess which of the pictures this is!! We found a pretty little anchorage for the second night behind ‘Pain a Sucre’, a rock with incredible child friendly snorkelling around it and a good beach for swimming. This morning we snorkelled over a wreck which is in the main bay. Very eerie but it is only about 3 metres from the surface and the amount and variety of fish living in the wreck was amazing. Tonight we are going to enjoy looking up the different fish in our fish book.

Tomorrow we have hired a golf buggy to tour this island as some of the bays and beaches do not allow anchoring. I am really looking forward to getting behind the wheel and doing some more exploring!!
