Yesterday afternoon we had spinnaker up for about 6 hours reaching towards St Lucia. In evening turned into a run & went poled out headsail for evening. Throughout the night watch the wind was up & down. During my watch it came from SE so a gybe onto port. Wind then got lighter to about 8-10 its and when daylight spinnaker went up and had to sail high about 240 deg to get it to set.
At 12:00 dropped fishing line out the back and catch a Dorrado within 30 mins. Dropped spinnaker full reverse on engine and managed to land fish within 10 mins. Supper tonight. Well done Dan.
at 16:00 GMT wind came in from ENE 040-50 Deg mag as forecast. 15-20 Kts. Gybed onto starboard and now making SOG 7.5 in direction 260 COG broad reach. 270 COG is now slightly high with spinnaker and waves.
Planning on remaining on this gybe for the foreseeable and hold spinnaker till last light and review and probably switch to Jib.
