Saying goodbye and WAGs arrival in St Lucia

After all the preparation, I never could imagine actually arriving in St Lucia! It sounds very silly, but there have been a few 'curve balls' in the last weeks and I have not had time to daydream or think about what it would be like.

The flight out here was long, but on the whole Arthur, Alice and Eleanor were very good ( it was just hard work.............!) Arthur, as predicted, was too excited to sleep, so while Alice went to sleep on Anne's lap, I spent a good hour making soldiers out of plastic bottles, torn up newspaper and prit stick ( a genius last minute addition to my hand luggage!!)

The transfer from the Airport to Rodney bay was interesting. Wee stops and car sickness induced by the very windy, bumpy roads made it very long and tiring. Our driver said we were 20 minutes away for about an hour of the journey. It was worth the wait though as we arrived at our villa to a jug of rum punch.

Jet lag! Oh jet lag we despise you! Arthur and Alice woke up at 2am local time.

focus has now turned to when the boys arrive. We planned this all, thinking we would have about 5 days at the house to get over jet lag ( which they will not be suffering from) etc etc. they have sailed so quickly that they are expected to arrive in the next 24 hours! Quelle shock! We are very excited to be seeing them so soon though and cannot wait to celebrate their arrival.

This first day we have been getting our bearings and later plan to take the dollar bus ( complete with Bob Marley tunes blaring) around to the Marina to see our friends Paul and Sheryl Shard on their boat Distant Shores. They have not yet met Alice so we have not seen them for ages.

Will update once the boys arrive.
