Marina Puerto Callero is  lovely and we have now had a good rest:

Yesterday we hired a car and explored the island – very different to Spain obviously, lunar in appearance, stark, majestic, beautiful in parts but unfortunately there is a lot of ‘ye olde’ this and that on every street corner!  Very little high rise, beautiful marinas, a couple of flat touristy beaches and a few little craggy coves.  We headed for the artisan’s market – a gentle little venue with local arts and crafts:

Then a quick tapas before heading off to another cave which had an underground lake – very pretty – where concerts are held as the acoustics are so good –  and clever landscaping outside:

Today we drove around to the south of the island before a Blue Water Rally drinks and canapé party this evening.  Tapestry arrived today having had a pretty arduous journey and it was great to have them back with us. There is a great feeling of camaraderie and bonding between all the boats and their crews and it has been a real bonus to have a couple of days off – tomorrow we must start getting prepared for the ‘pond’ now we have some experience of what to expect………
