Fabulous weather, very chic modern marina with lots of bars, restaurants, designer shops and a quick stop expensive supermarket.  Arrived at 6.00am and berthed right up one end of the marina near the shower blocks which is great.  Everyone a bit scratchy and tired but too full of adrenalin to sleep! Michael and Bennett cleaned up the boat and washed down the decks and then went on an immediate lash and socialised with all the others, Oscar went to the beach with some of the younger crews and Vic watched a film and kept in touch with friends – we have a good wi fi connection here which is great for us all as we don’t have to share the one connection we have with vodaphone.

Paul and I gathered up most of the laundry and decided on handing it in rather than doing it ourselves – too many washes with sheets etc – 30 euros for 15 kilos of washing and drying seemed reasonable.  We have a machine on board but the marina apparently frown on too many washing lines…….

Shared a lovely pizza and salad, checked out car hire, ambled around the marina looking at super yachts and particularly the Eriksson Fast net yacht – what a machine with all the young guys preparing for the off.  There are lots of ARC boats here too and there is a really good convivial atmosphere.

Welcome drinks at 19.00 laid on by Blue Water Rally organisers for a chance to meet up with everyone again (except Tapestry who have now fixed their steering and are on their way) and exchange Atlantic crossing stories  before a tasty prawn pil pil and an early night.
