Tied up on waiting pontoon in St. Peter Port at
0700. Passage plan indicated arrival in daylight but in the event we
arrived off Guernsey in the early hours having sailed at 7.5-8.5 knots all the
way. First half of trip was great with some fantastic stars in the early
part of the night. In the afternoon we were buzzed by two French jets who
flew past below mast hight, one in front, one astern. The second half of
the trip was tough as the sky clouded over and the wind strengthened. By
the time we made the final approach to Guernsey we were down to double-reefed
main only.
