Well, we're off, finally!  Left Troon just
after 7 this morning and motored out into a calm sea but with lots of squally
showers.  Motored until 6pm before we finally got a decent wind. Now
sailing at 6 knots with a westerly wind. We're aiming to make Falmouth in one
leg.  The forecast looks favourable.  We're off the east coast of
Northern Ireland at the moment.  Lot's of activity, fishing boats,
freighters.  Passing Loch Ryan we saw two of the new fast ferries to
Ireland.  Max is in the galley.  Not sure what's on the menu tonight
but it will be delicious as usual, I'm sure.  Iain has been driving the
guys to distraction with his unsolvable OYT riddles.  He may end up over
the side at this rate.  We've made pretty good progress, 70 miles so far
today in less than 12 hours.  Looks like we'll be dodging fishing boats all
night.  This will be first time sending the blog by sat phone as we are out
of mobile range.
PS Had to cut out photos to send it.
