So race day is approaching and final preparations are underway. The boat is
out of the water for here final scrub and go faster paint job!!
The chocolate brownies and cottage pies are in Vic's oven and the charts
and route plans are all over the dinning table.
The team preparations are complete after the last training day on Sunday.
The full team will meet on Saturday the 6th August for final provisioning and a
last supper before the start off Cowes at 11.20 am Sunday morning well wishers
can see us off at 8.00 Am or go over to Cowes to watch the start off the Royal
Yacht Squadron!!!
After the start the team will be focused on the challenge ahead.. 608 miles
of ocean racing against challenging navigation and strong tidal streams down the
English channel before rounding lands end for the dash across the Irish sea to
the Fastnet rock off the south west tip of Ireland. Then back to Plymouth via
bishop rock off the Scilly Isles.
The team have worked hard and the preparation is done lets hope far winds
and good tides will bring us all home in good spirits some time on Thursday or
Friday next week.
Progress reports will be posted on the diary page each day if the
technology works and the weather is far to allow time off the rail to write the
reports.
Here is to a great race and achieving are objectives
Complete the course safely with good team spirit and with a respectable mid
table result!!!
