At Last

I
hope this works as I have been trying to send this blog for a week. I was
unable to find a wi fi site that would accept my Outlook Express-mail. Then
unable to find an online machine with Outlook Express. Now this is the full
blown Outlook program. I hope it works. Sorry if this stuff seems out of order
but I promised pictures. After
the wonderful reception at Glasson we all eventually went our own ways Melvin
in the area and I went North to visit with family. The good wishes of these NJ. USA ladies helped in our safe return
Although we arrived here by auto the welcome was wonderful. Melvin looking more like an Old Salt with the beard. almost all say
he suits it what do you think? Aren't
reunions wonderful? I think everyone in the world knew Nancy would be in England
to meet me. So
now after a few nights rest and some long showers I'm beginning to feel human
again. I
mentioned that I was fortunate to stay with a wonderful family in the northern
part of the
Isle of Man. They gave us a send off dinner with much of the menu coming from
their farm. they
have three children Jade, Theo and Alfie. Unfortunately for us activities kept
them very busy,
but I did get a chance to talk with Alfie who showed me around the farm and his
many projects.
I asked him if he would mind giving me a small bio for the blog... My
name is Alfie and I go to Grammer School in the Isle of Man. I have just passed
my grade 5 cornet
which I play in the town band. I enjoy beekeeping and have 8 hives which should
produce plenty
of honey for this year. I also grow vegetables for my family and shows that I
enter. I have 28 geese
some of which will be sold for Christmas dinner. I also have 3 turkeys, guinea
fowl, chickens and
ducks which are for meat or eggs. I have grown a 5lb 4oz onion and a 48lb
cabbage. I
have 4 "meg" (pet) lambs and 5 sheep, Alfie on the farm with "Ole Tom" |
