The day started with little wind, but as the day progressed the wind strengthened. But at least the SW wind was a good sign. Having passed Portland Bill with the tide, some 12 miles out to sea, was most satisfactory, but then with the wind right behind the boat with waves getting bigger signalled that stronger winds were to come. And they did.
By the time I moored on an anchorage in Swanage Bay as it was getting dark (2100), the winds were Force 6 and the waves made for uncomfortable sailing.
A successful penultimate day, with the end in sight back in Poole, hopefully tomorrow.
