I thus departed after a quick lunch and motored up the remainder of the East coast of Aran until I joined the main sea passage eastwards.
I am not sure what it is this trip, but wherever I seem to head, the wind is on the nose. There has not been an easterly since I came to Ireland, a NW wind or occasionally a W one being the norm. But as soon as I head East, guess what!
So today was a motoring day, again.
The mountains on my starboard side were quite impressive, with wind farms spread all over them. Let the skies and about 18 degrees C: not too warm for summer.

Horn Head again. The effect of wind, rain and sea is only too clear to see.
Now at anchor just off the fishermen’s quay with holiday homes around the bay.
