I walked around Bryher, enjoying a tiny cafe and the pub/lunch place, which served crab sandwiches.
I awaited the arrival of Carango, an Amel 55, with Peter and Vicky Forbes, Mark and Cherry Shuldham on board. As the Amel was due to moor up in St Mary’s Pool on arrival, I sailed across the Tresco flats, keeping my eyes on the depth gauge, and took a visitor’s mooring in the Pool, going ashore to go for a swim and look around. A message was then received to state that Carango had anchored just near where I just was! So I retraced my steps, hoping to get across the flats on a rapidly falling tide.
I joined up with the Carango team and enjoyed a fun evening out which finished up with me having to tow the Carango crew dinghy back as the outboard starter pull cord had broken.
I stored my dinghy back on board with engine too (a dicey manoeuvre in the dark) planning my trip for today from there to Newlyn.

I left my anchorage at 0530, hoping for a great sail. Howe er, once again this trip, the wind was on the nose, so I headed ESE and tacked after 3 hours, only to be stymied by dying wind. I moored in Newlyn harbour after a 53 nm trip, which was only 32 nms as the crow flies. And I had to use the engine for more hours than I would have wished.
