Wind forecast was Force 4 to 5 occasionally 6, SW wind - on the. Law the whole passage!

The day was spent reefing, shaking out reefs, reefing again etc. I was glad to have my wind self steering gear to ensure that I did not have to fight the tiller for 12 hours , a long day, but enjoyable.

I was aiming for Dartmouth but wind and tide led me to change my mind at about 5.30 pm. I will try to post some pictures taken as I was approaching and rounding Portland Bill by the inner passage. This is renowned for be one of the most dangerous tidal gates around UK. Catching the tide right make the fear factor less worrying.

The trip took 12 hours.
