After having left the Italian coastline, we headed north east across
the
Adriatic Sea on to Dubrovnik in Croatia, where we landed not long
after,
on a very nice and very long runway.
Very friendly and extremely helpful airport staff made us welcome in a
country
we both have not visited yet.
In order to continue the next day, early in the morning to Luxor in
Egypt, we
decided to fill up our bird with 96 US Gallons into the Ferry tank, and
we also
filled up all six wing tanks to the limit.
Now we could see, HB-PON was extremely heavily loaded for the first
time of our
Round the World trip and a long distance to cover on to Africa...
A short Taxi drive to the nearby seaside, and we checked in the lovely
Iberostar Hotel there.
We both enjoyed a lovely evening meal, with a few cold beers and some
wine at
the waterfront by the Adriatic Sea.
This was indeed a great spot to stay at longer next time.
First
night - good lights sleep!
Approaching
the Croatian coast
Ouff... heavily loaded up for the first time; 20% over
gross weight!
