After a perfect six days in Stockholm, Aquila resumes her cruise towards St Petersburg. The forecast however did its best to dissuade us: NE 7 gusting 9, and that is exactly what we got today.  However, our thirty mile passage was all in sheltered waters, so it was not as though we were exposed, compared to a crossing of the English Channel.  Nonetheless, once we set the tripple reefed main, a few of the more sporting gusts had us seriously heeled.
Seb and Pipps rose to the challenge like the seasoned tars they are, with Seb doing the needle navigation and Pipps much of the helming. The donk did the work of pushing us dead to windward through the narrows that guard the approach to Stockholm, before we could bear away SE for our intended overnight anchorage on Runmaro island. We found a vacant buoy in a well sheltered spot by teatime - that cuppa went down particularly well.
Tomorrow we will probably be at sea overnight as we move from Swedish to Finnish waters.
