The musings of a lowly Cabin Boy.

It was only the lowly Cabin Boy who rose early on this morn, after much carousing by many of the crew, who must have been trying to blank out the memories of the "Tunisian Experience".

However there was still much drama waiting to unfold.  No sooner had our two friendly German neighbours  departed when two mad French men (are there any others?) decided to squeeze their 52 ft yacht into the tiny vacant space. As we rushed to man our fenders it became clear that not only were they trying to lay their anchor chain across ours, but their windlass was"caput" ,and so was most of the rest of their craft. Finally and without further mishap, they lay alongside.  After laying their anchor from our rib, and with the wind increasing from a more favourable direction, we decided it was safer to depart, than face the perils of being moored alongside these "French Pirates".  By now, John was determined that these two had not come upon this craft by honest means.
Thus we departed and found a sheltered bay to drop anchor and feast upon our trophies from the Tunisian market.  Captain Brian manned the BBQ for the steak and peppers, whilst multi-tasking and cooking green beans and chips below. With no time to waste, except to maintain yet another heads (marine word for loo) which was threatening to block, we set sail on what was to be my last overnight passage of this trip, bound for Gozo.

Thus we arrived in Mgarr @ 1315 local time and managed to secure what must have been almost the last berth in the marina, although for a moment we feared we must have gone off course and landed at the airport as we were greeted by the roar of aero engines! See photos!!!

Tomorrow we travel to St Pauls Bay, after we have carried out our duties; and then after a night there we make our grand entrance into The Grand Harbour in Valletta, when I must leave the ship.

However, I return in six weeks, and then who knows, I may be promoted to crew, or even First Mate!
