Claudine, Malc and Wendy, Neil and Mary arrived in Split and  safely transferred to W2 at Tsunami.

Due to the staggered times of arrival of the new crew, we were able to explore the neighbouring town of Trogir.  In 1997 Trogir was declared a World Heritage Town and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the narrow streets, squares, church, roofless castle and market.  We were glad we were on a boat and not subject to the constant traffic jam over the bridge leading to Ciovo Island.  With all crew aboard we made a rapid transit to Vis (via an overnight anchorage on Brac) to beat the flotillas. Last night we  enjoyed a meal in Stoncica (photo) and are now in Vis town (photo). Over to the crew:

For the early arrivals we were greeted by heavy cloud and the threat of rain, which at least held off till we were on board, when the heavens opened.  However  - so far this week, we have been blessed with typical summer Mediterranean weather of wall to wall sunshine  and light breezes - unfortunately, usually  blowing from the direction of our intended destination, so we have had to resort to motoring with only occasional sailing.  This has prompted the crew to undertake deck routines (photo). The crew are also getting adept (dont think Brian agrees) at anchoring, re anchoring and getting fixed lines ashore to make the boat fast,  to prevent swinging in often crowded anchorages. On the plus side, the waters in which we have anchored have been crystal clear and a delight  to swim in - refreshing in the morning and cooling later in the day. We have had one meal ashore at Uvula Stoncica where Brian had been twice before, and received a great welcome, particularly from the young waitress! We had  a tremendous meal of slow cooked mutton liberally washed down with plenty of  Croatian house wine, followed by a game of very noisy charades to the amusement of all the other guests!

Tomorow we have been threatened with the deck scrubbing routine, followed by taking on water before departing Vis - and then where?
