We are just getting ourselves ready and should be setting off on our next leg to Madeira . We’ve checked all the reliable data sources we can find and it would appear all is well with being allowed in but we will have to remain on the boat , have a test , wait for the results and then quarantine depending on the outcome.

The last couple of days have been really lovely in the old town and we’ve even done a bit of culture looking at old castles and stuff.

Whilst wandering around the castle I actually came across evidence that the problem I have with my wet weather gear is nothing new and has been bothering nights of old for centuries as can be seen from the photo below.

It would appear , however , that this chappie was a lot more successful at easing himself out of the confines of his chain mail than I have been from my Houdini trousers.

I must say it  does appear that he’s being a bit vigorous with it which may account for the big ears !
