Happy Anniversary

Today is the 40th Anniversary of Janet and I getting married , it is also the 400th Anniversary of John Smith  and his happy band on the Mayflower making their famous crossing to America , obviously not this day but you know what I mean.

One thing to note is that America was, no doubt , in a much better state in John’s  day than it is now. If he had known then that the result of his adventure was to lead to ‘The Trump ‘ he would , I am sure , have turned straight round and come back again – or gone to Australia .

Jan and I celebrated with a Stugeron and a chocolate Madeleine – mmmm.

Saw two pods of porpoises yesterday podding their way north. I use the word porpoise loosely because despite trying to identify them from Alan’s book I am still none the wiser. One bunch were similar to the Common dolphin we saw off Plymouth but larger and the other pod were like small Orca but still 6 – 8 feet long . Note to self – all dolphins don’t look like Flipper . Where were they going ? Who knows ? My guess is Bournemouth to join the rest of the crowds

Oh , another lovely thing that happened last evening was that a tiny little bird landed on the rail next to Janet to get it’s breath back .  as soon as I can sort out the connection between camera and PC I will include some photos

Beef stir fry for dinner last night .  I say dinner but to be honest if it wasn’t for the approximate position of the sun I wouldn’t know if it was dinner time , breakfast time or afternoon tea . Good news -the voices have stopped .

I tell you this Ocean sailing is a lot more action packed then I was expecting.
