What a 'send-off' that was. There were so many of you on Mudeford quay, not to mention those of you on the riverbank and Christchurch Quay, that I actually missed some of you, to those I missed I'm sorry, to all of you a massive 'thank you' from Marion and I.

It was a very emotional moment for us.

By the way Marion saw all of you. (Oh, the observational powers of a woman.)

Well, we arrived in Camaret (just south of Brest) on Tuesday night after two pleasant days sailing/motorsailing. Our intention had been to go to L'Abervach on the NW tip of Brittany but when we arrived there the tide was favourable to get through the Channel de Four so we went for it, arriving in Camaret at the very pleasant hour of 1800 on Tuesday.

The big event on this passage was the report of a dead whale floating in Channel de Four which was a danger to shipping and that ships should keep a lookout for it. I know the attached photo is a bit grim but this is the dead whale.

Our plan now is to cross Biscay as soon as we get a weather window. At the moment there is not enough wind so we will wait. Speak to you from the other side of the b***ay.

Conor
