At Sea Day 3...
A slow day with light or no winds resulted in 141
miles made good to our Bermuda waypoint.
With a storm 200 miles behind us we entered a
"wind shadow" - During the afternoon Matchmaker slipped along
through a smooth sea at between 5 and 6 knots - unzipping a silver wake on the
indigo Ocean behind. No fishing as we had already enough for the days meals
safely in the galley.
Everyone is now fully settled into the routine --
and books are traded / swapped and discussed.
No ships sighted today and no radio traffic - it
seems we are on our own !
Chris was our mother watch for the day, and served
up Egg & Bacon Breakfast and Dorado Lunch - sea, to pan, to plate, all
within 40 minutes! Simply butter fried, in a light flour dusting and
then drizzled with lemon and accompanied with a salad the Dorado was sweet and
flakey and very meaty. We have a further 5 portions now in the
freezer.
During the night we motored and by dawn the gentle
Easterly breeze returned.
By 6 a.m. Mick was sending the Tuna lure out again
- and fishing with determination and passion.....
We were soon passing through acres of partly
knitted carpet weed which kept snagging the line - so hampering Mick`s
efforts.
Weather forecast remains favourable although winds
are light - currently we seem to be able to dodge the storms which are to the
south and the north.
